1. I think studying abroad is good because it unlocks a lot more opportunities for you to earn scholarships and meet new friends. You also have a higher chance of a better life in said country if you got an internship at a massive company.
2. I think public transportation in Vietnam is pretty unorganized because of the amount of taxi companies that operate within big cities such as Hồ Chí Minh or Hà Nội. Even after the construction of metro links in Hồ Chí Minh city, most of them are either crowded or unfinished. Therefore, I think Vietnamese transportation is unorganized and not properly monitored.
3. The first time I celebrated Tết, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, I was excited from the moment I woke up. The smell of bánh chưng—the traditional rice cake—was already in the air as my family prepared for the holiday. We spent hours wrapping the rice cakes in banana leaves, a tradition that felt so special.
My relatives began arriving, and everyone brought gifts, like fresh fruit and red envelopes filled with money. These envelopes are a way of wishing good luck for the new year. I wore a new ao dài, a beautiful traditional dress, as it’s common to wear something new for Tết.
As the evening came, we set up an altar to honor our ancestors, and I helped light incense. Then, we celebrated with a big family meal, full of delicious food like pho, spring rolls, and more bánh chưng. There were fireworks outside, and the whole neighborhood felt alive with happiness and good energy.
What I loved most about Tết wasn’t just the food or the fun—it was the time spent with family, remembering our traditions, and looking forward to the new year together.
4. Last summer, I went to the USA to visit my cousin in the state of Colorado. When we arrived at Denver International Airport, I used my English skills to explain to the security guard that we were looking for John Doe (I won't use my cousin's name here for the sake of his privacy). After a few minutes of him making some racist remarks, my cousin arrived and we got in his car. For the rest of the trip we went to theme parks, restaurants and even visited his college. It was a great experience and I'm looking forward to our next trip this summer.
5. Renewable energy sources are important because of the limited amount of coal in the sea. Energy sources such as solar, hydro and wind are greater alternatives because they last forever. In the past, solar energy was considered expensive and unaffordable for most families. However, technology has improved and solar power has gotten cheaper, so I recommend purchasing solar panels if you need it.
